195 million dollars lemon export from Türkiye in 4 months

According to the Aegean Exporters Association, Türkiye ranks fifth in the world among the leading countries in lemon exports.

Cengiz Balık, President of the Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters Association, emphasized that exports decreased in volume, while the increase in revenue was due to the increase in export prices.

Stating that 11 percent of Turkey's exports of fresh fruits and vegetables worth 3 billion 703 million dollars in 2025 came from lemons, Balık said that an average of 7 percent of the fresh fruits and vegetables produced were exported, and this rate reached 33 percent for lemons.

The goal is to exceed $500 million

Regarding the January-April period, Balık said: “Our lemon exports increased by 18 percent, from $165 million to $195 million. Our goal is to exceed the $500 million mark in lemon exports by the end of 2026.”

Stating that Turkish lemon exports, which were 230,000 tons in 2002, reached 577,000 tons in 2024, Balık said it is premature to talk about the yield in 2026 and she expects a higher yield in 2025.

Among the countries with the highest demand for fish in the January-April period, Iraq ranks first with $64.5 million, Russia second with $50 million and Romania third with exports of $14.5 million.
