191.5 million euros in financing for Türkiye's “Green Cities” project

According to the Ministry of Finance and Finance, Türkiye's efforts to obtain external financing on favorable terms continue.

Accordingly, the Green and Future Cities Project was approved by the Board of Directors of the World Bank.

As part of the project, financing of 191.5 million euros will be provided to the provincial bank by the World Bank under guarantee from the ministry.

The project aims to realize municipalities' investments in sustainable and resilient urban transport as well as drinking water and water treatment infrastructure. In addition, the institutional and technical performance of municipalities should be strengthened.

The amount of foreign financing reached $4.5 billion

In his assessment on the issue, Finance and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek pointed out that the volume of external financing on favorable terms reached about $4.5 billion in 2026 and said: “Within the framework of our economic program that emphasizes sustainable growth and social welfare and the medium-term program, we will strongly continue our support for our municipalities' infrastructure investments and the fight against climate change.” he said.
