17 Turkish teams are taking part in the Robotics World Cup

The championship, held April 17-21 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, saw some 600 robotics teams from dozens of countries around the world demonstrate their skills with the robots they created.

While about 22,000 students from all over the world took part in the FRC event, which also included future engineering candidates, Turkey is the country with the largest participation in the championship with 400 students after the hosts USA and Canada.

Turkey, which competed with 4-5 teams in previous years, is participating this year with 17 teams in the Robotics Championship, one of the most prestigious robotics competitions in the world. In addition to Istanbul and Ankara, some high school teams from provinces such as Mersin and Izmir are also trying to achieve success in the championship.

“Türkiye is the country with the highest number of female students in its teams”

Consul General of Turkey in Texas Ahmet Akıntı stated in his statement that he visited all Turkish teams one after another in the region where the FRC Championship was held and that a record 21 teams from Turkey participated this year qualified to participate, and 17 teams participated in person.

Ahmet Akıntı explained that he watched some Turkish teams' matches on the first day of the championship and was very excited. He was also happy to learn that some students who had previously participated in robotics competitions are now coaching the same teams. Istanbul is one of the FRC's regional centers.

Stating that the successes achieved in such competitions will be a source of motivation for other young people in Turkey, Akıntı said, “I think that these children participating in the competition have the ability to contribute to our country's breakthroughs in science and technology. “Fields in the coming years. said.

FRC sets the rules and framework for robots, which are developed every year according to a different concept. Students who create the desired robots in a limited time must first place in regional competitions in order to qualify for the world championship.
