Science Turkey Yamaçtepe Sky Observation Festival, organized for the first time by Turkish Technology Team Foundation and Şahinbey Municipality for space and sky enthusiasts, will be held in Gaziantep on August 10-12.
The organization, which will be held within the scope of the Yamaçtepe Science Camp program of Şahinbey Municipality of Gaziantep, will be held under the theme of astronomy and science; the activities will include observing celestial objects with a telescope at night, observing meteor showers, observing the sun with a telescope during the day, scientific workshops and astronomy lectures. There will also be various activity areas.
Applications for accommodation at the Observation Festival are open. Applications can be submitted from 81 provinces of Turkey. There are two different accommodation alternatives: bungalow houses or tents. Applications for bungalow houses are accepted individually and accommodation is provided in bungalow houses for 8 people. Tent applications can be made according to the number of tents and for a maximum of 4 people. The provision and setting up of the tents is also the responsibility of the participants. Observation Festival participants can bring their own cameras, telescopes, camcorders, laptops, etc. They can bring their observation equipment and use it freely.
Participants under the age of 16, accompanied by a parent, can participate in the Yamaçtepe Sky Observation Festival, where the quota is limited. The final registrations will be determined by a lottery that will be held after the closure of applications received between July 18 and 25.
