According to Türksat, an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, with each satellite Turkey puts into orbit, it eliminates its foreign dependence in the field of communications.
While satellites contribute to the development and export of local content, especially in the television sector, they also ensure that Turkish is more widely spoken in the geography within the satellite coverage area.
Many regional channels are made available to citizens across the country and abroad via satellite, giving the local television industry the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally.
You connect to the world via the Internet
In addition, with its Ka-band capacity, defined as the data capacity of satellites, Turkey provides Internet services to a wide coverage area such as the entire Middle East, the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, North and East Africa, Nigeria and South Africa, as well as neighboring countries.
In fact, Internet infrastructure can be provided even in areas such as deserts and seas that are inaccessible to terrestrial infrastructure via satellites, especially Türksat 5B. If desired, the entire coverage area can be covered by the broadband data capacity of the satellites. Currently, this service is offered under commercial agreements in many countries in the Middle East and South Africa.

TürksatVSAT provides a reliable, high quality and uninterrupted service guarantee regardless of geographical conditions through Türksat communication satellites and responds to the communication needs of public institutions and organizations as well as private companies.
Through agreements with various ministries and public institutions, the company provides technical infrastructure services that ensure fast and effective communication between the central and regional organizations of these institutions.
By using TürksatVSAT, public institutions can communicate more securely and cost-effectively. Institutions with widespread branches and offices throughout the country and abroad become owners of a fast, secure and interactive communication network system with TürksatVSAT services.
Village schools received Internet with TürksatVSAT
The cooperation initiated in 2019 between the Ministry of National Education and Türksat AŞ to provide Internet services to schools via Türksat AŞ's communications satellites also brought village schools online.
Thousands of village schools, where Internet cable and fiber optic infrastructure services could not be provided due to difficult geographical conditions, were connected to the world by installing TürksatVSAT antennas.
In this context, 1277 village schools received internet, and with the introduction of Türksat 5B, internet speed exceeded 100 megabits. The goal is to provide high-speed internet service to all schools that do not have infrastructure via Türksat satellites with VSAT antennas.
