Venezuelan opposition leader Machado made a brief statement to the press after the meeting at the White House.
During his meeting with the US president, Machado stated that he had presented Trump with the Nobel Peace Prize, but did not comment on whether Trump had accepted the award.
In his previous remarks, US President Trump argued that “Machado does not have enough respect and power among the people to take power in Venezuela” and for this reason stated that they would work with current interim President Delcy Rodriguez and his government.
