Türkiye will strengthen its cyber security shield with new exercises

According to the central government's budget law proposal for 2025, the outlines of the work to be carried out by the ministry in the field of cybersecurity have been established.

Strategic studies for the next year, drawn up in the light of the objectives of the Strategic Plan 2024-2028, provide for ensuring the security of all types of services, transactions and data in the fields of electronic communications and information technologies, as well as the systems involved in their presentation.

In this context, a Smart Data Management Center will be established, established and operated to ensure the use and evaluation of the data generated by public institutions and organizations, municipalities, special provincial administrations, real and legal persons within the framework of intelligent transport systems and will be established an intelligent data center to define the application procedures and principles related to these tasks. Activities related to transportation systems continue uninterrupted.

The number of service packages added or updated under the national intelligent transportation system architecture is expected to reach 20 by the end of this year. The number of benefit packages, which is expected to increase to 22 next year, is expected to be 23 in 2026 and 25 in 2027.

National instruments are being developed for cyber interventions

In addition, in order to ensure national cybersecurity, procedures and principles for setting policies, strategies and objectives and ensuring cybersecurity for public institutions and organizations as well as natural and legal persons have been established.

The aim is to develop all types of cyber intervention tools and national solutions, to draw up action plans, ensure the coordination of relevant activities, identify critical infrastructures and the institutions and sites to which they belong, set up the necessary intervention centers, set them up and ensure their control.

Activities to raise cybersecurity awareness, conduct training and awareness-raising activities, and prepare the procedures and principles to be followed by natural and legal persons operating in the field of cybersecurity will continue.

It is planned to organize 11 national and international cybersecurity exercises by the end of this year, and 11 exercises are planned for next year. The number of exercises should be twelve in 2026 and 13 in 2027.
