According to the 2023 Activity Report of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Türksat AŞ, inspection and monitoring activities are carried out around the clock to ensure that the satellites operated by the company can continue their uninterrupted broadcasts within the specified parameters.
Certification is achieved by conducting the necessary antenna tests for the satellite connection stations transmitting via Türksat satellites in order to meet the technical conditions.
Technical parameters such as EIRP, C/N, bandwidth and center frequency of carriers using satellite capacity are measured and archived 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To improve the quality of satellite frequency observation activities, modifications of the antennas and subsystems on which operational activities are carried out, as well as maintenance and repair activities, are carried out regularly.
In this context, as part of the infrastructure expansion efforts, frequency monitoring activities of the Türksat 5A and 5B satellites, which recently joined the satellite fleet, as well as the Türksat 6A satellites, which are scheduled to be launched on July 9, will continue.
Continuous monitoring of broadcast traffic
The installation of new antennas and subsystems has been completed to enable uninterrupted monitoring of traffic in the Ku, New Ku, Ka-BSS and X bands on the new satellites.
It was decided to build new observation stations to improve frequency observation capabilities and create geographical redundancy with the growing satellite fleet. Currently, Türksat has observation stations in six locations in the country, in addition to Istanbul.
Abroad, stations continue to operate in Germany and Afghanistan. In addition, the establishment of new observation stations is planned, and discussions are currently underway with several countries.
While the landing performance of satellites in the relevant regions is measured via these stations, the impact that may be caused by neighboring satellites is also monitored. This ensures that satellites can transmit without interruption.
