Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the second quarter 2025 data of the electronic communications sector prepared by the Information Technology and Communications Authority (BTK) in a written statement.
Stating that about 81.4 percent of all mobile phone subscribers are residential customers and 18.6 percent are corporate customers, Minister Uraloğlu said, “Turkey became the country that made the most calls via mobile phones compared to European countries in the second quarter of 2025 with an average monthly mobile phone usage time of 493 minutes.”

Uraloğlu stated that a total of 81.8 billion minutes of calls were made on mobile and landline lines and said, “This time is equivalent to 155,000 years when speaking without interruption.”
Pointing out that the number of operators operating in the field of electronic communications was 405 at the end of June, Uraloğlu said, “The number of permits issued to these operators is 751. These operators are listed as “Internet Service Provider Service”, “Infrastructure Management Service” and “Fixed Telephone Service” in terms of the number of permits.”
Emphasizing that the number of fixed-line telephone subscribers was 8.8 million and the number of mobile telephone subscribers was about 96.5 million in the second quarter of 2025, Uraloğlu also noted that the amount of mobile traffic increased by 8.8 percent and the amount of fixed-line traffic increased by 5.8 percent compared to the previous three-month period, saying, “95.8 percent of the traffic consisted of Mobile-to-cellular traffic.”
“We Reached 97 Million Broadband Internet Subscribers”
Uraloğlu, the number of broadband Internet subscribers; Pointing out that 20.7 million are fixed-line subscribers and 76.6 million are mobile subscribers, he said: “We have reached a total number of broadband Internet subscribers of 97.4 million. While the number of Internet subscribers increased by 1.9 percent compared to the same period last year, the largest increase was in the number of “Wireless Wireless Internet (Fixed)” subscribers at a rate of 36.6 percent recorded, followed by the number of “Fiber to the Home” customers with a rate of 24 percent.
