As part of the Chang 8 mission, Metu worked with the Chinese space agency (CNSA), Zhejiang University and the Star.Vision.
The mission covers the plan for the discovery of the southern pole of the China's moon and the plan to determine where the country was built in the 2030s.
In this context, the research center for METU -Robotics and artificial intelligence technologies are developed as part of the “Cheri” project. The two vehicles for micro coverage will interact with each other in the south pole of the moon, which list scientific data in the south pole of the moon, record analyzes and artificial intelligence support through autonomous routes by identifying its own routes.
It should send the planned vehicles to the south of the moon at the end of 2028. Türkiye, i.e. the 6th country that sends a reconnaissance vehicle to the south pole of the moon, will be the first country to send two discovery vehicles at the same time.
“We also have ideas such as the use of the moon floor and the production of structures there”
Prototypes of the AA correspondent about the vehicles created and the work in the statements of the deputy director of Metu Romer Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Mert Ankara said that the center was founded in 2019 and that they carry out research and development activities in almost every section of the robot area.
Ankara said that the project is exciting to implement the project, emphasized that they are seriously working on this topic.
In China, this year at the “Space Day” event that they had the opportunity to go to the south of the moon, two robots will be there for the first time as part of space tasks. The moon will do information tasks. he said.
To assume that this project is an important step for the country, Ankara: “We believe that we will come to better points. Mars, asteroids or space more comprehensive, larger robots to bring them to earth, e.g.
“The south pole of the moon is a very interesting point”
Faculty member and conductor of the Project Assoc. Dr. Halil Ersin Söken said that they had identified the names of the two “Cheri” discovery robots, which are to be sent to the moon.
Söken emphasized that this will be the first space mission of the two robots on the moon, and said:
“There is a private company called Star.Vision with which we are currently working with. This company produces more processors with artificial intelligence capacity for satellites in space and they have already applied and tested them on the satellites. We want to map the surface of the moon in three dimensions.”
Söken points out that the area that lands on the south pole of the moon has demanding terrain conditions, said Söken:
“The southern pole of the moon is actually a very interesting point. Above all, NASA suspected that there was a spaceship in the orbit.
In this sense we want to achieve one of the first. So far there is no rover that can do this task, i.e. the south pole of the moon. We do not know if there would be another vehicle to achieve this by 2028. We want to be the first country to move forward in the south pole of the moon. There can be countries that send various vehicles up to this year, but there are currently 5 countries that can send Rover to the moon. We plan to become the 6th country by successfully performing this task. Together with this task, we want to be the first country to operate two rovers on the surface of the moon at the same time. “
“There will be great data with regard to the understanding of the geography of the moon”
Currently, the vehicles circulating in the lunar orbit, a three -dimensional map with different scientific methods and the three dimensional works are currently trying to create the equivalent level with the floor forms of the moon. will provide. “shared his knowledge.
Söken emphasized that space research is clear, and said: “Now we have started to talk about life stages on Mars or various topics such as asteroid reduction. After we have proven to have proven ourselves with such a task, I believe that this is much clearer in terms of cooperation with national and international stakeholders.” rated.
“Türkiye came to her interest in her interest”
The Rector of Metu Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil explained that the project was implemented with international cooperation and that the two vehicles receive the images with regard to mapping, navigation and image to explore the moon surface of the surface of the moon.
Yozgatlıgil explained that two communicated robots were supported by artificial intelligence and gave the following information:
“The fact that the two robots work as a spouse in the southern pole of the moon is a premiere of the world. The South Pole is a place where the temperature difference is too high and we will perform these tasks under difficult conditions. Türkiye is the point, the technologies that they have developed, and their technologies attracted their attention and accepted us on their change 8 mission.”
Yozgatlıgil emphasized that “Cheri” carried out a project by Metu with students and faculty members between the campus and said that Tübsyak Space supports the project.
Yozgatlıgil said that they will work with many companies in the industry and said: “Thanks to this project, we will recognize Türkiye on the surface of the moon in 2028. We have goals for the moon as part of the national space program. Our first goal is to go to the moon and work on this topic. He said.
“We are researching Inter -Planetar Communication.”
Prof. Dr. Yozgatlıgil pointed out that there are many projects under the leadership of Metu and said:
“There are currently the international projects that we go and offer. For example, Inter -planetarian Communication. Today we carry out 5G, 6G and beyond research on interplanetary communication in our solar system.
Many of our projects like this continue, new ones are added and we will recognize very important projects through the room. In the national space program of Türkiye there is a special technology development zone in space in space in cooperation with Metu, and our Minister of Industry and Technology has recently made an explanation. Metu will set up a technology development zone in the area of space, and many companies and universities will operate research in the field of space. “
