“Aircraft Nose Radome Test Service Agreement” was signed between TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and THY Teknik with the participation of TÜBİTAK President Aydın and THY Teknik President of Research, Development and Innovation Uğur Şahin.

Following the repair and maintenance work carried out by THY Teknik as part of the collaboration, which includes the repair, maintenance and testing services of the radome structure that protects the weather radars located in the nose of the aircraft from external influences, the electromagnetic tests were carried out Certification of radomes is carried out by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM.

Thanks to this collaboration, TÜBİTAK BİLGEM's Antenna Testing and Research Center (ATAM) will support THY Teknik's national and international aircraft maintenance capabilities by offering its measurement capabilities to the civil aviation sector.

KAAN's abilities are improved

TÜBİTAK President Aydın and Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu also signed contracts for two key subsystems within the framework of the National Combat Aircraft Development (KAAN) project.

TÜBİTAK MAM and TAI have also moved to the 2nd phase of the Life Support System and Explosion Protection System development projects, which are two critical systems for Turkey's 5th generation national fighter aircraft KAAN. These contracts cover all processes from critical design and product production to completion of flight testing.

The agreement will prevent foreign dependence on critical technologies and systems for KAAN and create an important ecosystem in the country within the framework of relevant work topics.

TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TUSAŞ will continue to cooperate in the second phase of KAAN.

With the KAAN Project Integrated Processor Unit (BÜİT) Term-1 Phase 2 contract signed between TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TAI, detailed design and qualification studies of the aircraft management platform and mission management platform will be carried out for KAAN's final mission performance.

The technologies developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM will continue to be at the heart of the aircraft management and mission management systems of the KAAN Block 10 aircraft that will enter the inventory in 2028. This 4-year contract will detail KAAN's flight control and aircraft management computers, main management computers, mission management computers, flight control aircraft management mission management avionics interface units, deterministic and high-speed network switching units and synchronization management unit design and qualification studies will be completed.

The contract will allow Turkey to become one of the few countries in the world capable of developing 5th generation fighter aircraft.

Crucial collaboration for lunar mission

With the “Wide Angle Camera Agreement” between TÜBİTAK UZAY and Poloptech, TÜBİTAK UZAY has carried out a crucial project that will allow Turkey to move one step closer to its space goals within the framework of the lunar mission.

The wide-angle camera system to be developed as part of this collaboration is considered a crucial technology for use in Turkish space missions. TÜBİTAK UZAY's goal is to develop a system that uses this technology to provide more detailed and high-resolution imaging of the lunar surface.

TÜBİTAK UZAY, as a leading institution in Turkish space research, will make a significant contribution to the technical infrastructure of the lunar mission with this project. The wide-angle camera system being developed to study the lunar surface in detail is of great importance for both scientific research and future space exploration.

Breakthrough in satellite and space technology
