According to the Yonhap agency, the South Korean Foreign Ministry has announced a travel ban for Venezuela.
The statement said Venezuela had been placed under a Level 4 warning, the highest level of the four-tier travel alert system, due to political disagreements with the United States.
The statement said that the ban in question applies to Zulia, Tachira, Apure and Sucre, the border regions of Venezuela, and that the remaining regions of the country would be under a level 3 travel warning, recommending citizens to leave the region.
The statement said that under the law, criminal sanctions may be imposed on those who enter or remain in areas where a travel ban is in effect without special authorization.
