The world's best drone pilots competed against each other at TEKNOFEST

The excitement of the World Drone Cup, which STM has been organizing for 6 years, could be experienced at TEKNOFEST Adana.

32 athletes from 32 countries took part in the World Drone Cup 2024, from Japan to Brazil, from Ukraine to the USA.

At the World Drone Cup, the largest international competition at TEKNOFEST, pilots competed against each other on specially prepared, demanding routes with self-designed and assembled drones.

Drone pilots who won first place in the competitions in their countries competed against each other at TEKNOFEST Adana.

The fastest drone pilot comes from Japan

The world's best drone pilots, who took to the runway on October 4, rounded out the first day with route familiarization and test flights. After the qualifying rounds on the second day, the exciting final followed.

This year's World Drone Cup champion was Yuki Hashimoto from Japan. Marvin Schapper from Liechtenstein came second and Chun Yan Kwan from the People's Republic of China came third. At the World Drone Cup, the first prize winner received 100,000 lira, the second 80,000 lira and the third 60,000 lira.

The participant representing Turkey at the Drone World Championship was determined at the TEKNOFEST Drone Championship. 16 Turkish participants took the stage at the TEKNOFEST Drone Championship finals on October 2nd and 3rd and Nazım Tüzün won first place. Nazım Tüzün, who represented Turkey at the World Drone Cup, took 15th place.

A total of 120,000 lira in prize money and material support were provided to the winners of the TEKNOFEST Drone Championship. One name that stood out among the participants this year was 9-year-old Woravit Subsri from Thailand. Subrsri, the youngest drone pilot in the World Drone Cup, finished 21st in the challenging competition.

Visitors congratulated the drone pilots, experienced the drones in the pilot seats, which can reach speeds of 260 kilometers per hour, and watched the flights through FPV drone goggles.

STM introduced the warships and mini-UAV tactical systems developed with its national engineering power to young people at TEKNOFEST Adana. At the STM stand, the little ones put their dream ships, submarines, aircraft and UAVs on paper and watched them become reality in digital space.

In the specially designed cyber security room at the STM stand, young people entered the world of cyber security by solving challenging questions and prepared tasks. Students who visited the STM booth learned through the digital skills survey which engineering field they could work in in the defense industry and STM.
