The traditional Iftar program organized by All Stores Union Entrepreneur Businessmen Association (TÜMBİR) was held at Cemile Sultan Grove with the participation of Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) President Şekib Avdagiç and TUMBİR Chairman Murat Günday.

In his speech here, Minister Bolat explained that they have gone through very difficult processes and that they value consultations and that everything they have done since President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took office for 23 years has been done together with the public.

Pointing out that there are important developments in the world, Bolat said: “There are economic crises, there is a recession. For more than a year there have been major trade wars, tariff wars and hot wars.” he said.

Stating that Türkiye continues its path in peace and tranquility without even a single citizen's fingernail being injured, Bolat said: “The Republic of Turkey is a country of peace and stability in this difficult geography.” he said.

Pointing out that there has been no terrorism in Turkey in the last seven to eight years, Bolat said: “Terrorist activities in northern Syria and Iraq have also been stopped through operations. These are great developments, great achievements.” he said.

“Measured by purchasing power parity, we have become the eleventh largest economy in the world.”

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated that Türkiye has become a country that contributes to peace-building, pursues an effective and successful line in foreign policy, and attracts attention through the strong defense industry developed over the past 20 years.

Stating that Turkey will continue to grow and strengthen in trade, agriculture, industry and services this century, Bolat said: “Our national income, which was $238 billion in 2002, was announced last Monday. It reached $1.6 trillion. We have risen from 23rd to 16th in the world league. We have become the 11th largest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power parity.” he said.

Stating that economic growth does not happen spontaneously and that they will continue to expand and strengthen it through cooperation, Bolat said: “There are many obstacles on the way. The attacks on neighboring Islamic countries right next to us and the deaths of innocent oppressed people sadden us all. Great efforts are being made to prevent this.” gave his assessment.

Bolat explained that the world has turned into a wolf's table and there is fierce competition between countries, pointing out that hot conflicts due to geopolitical and regional tensions as well as economic conflicts remain.

“The fight against inflation is going well”

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated that there is great competition in foreign trade and that the trade wars and customs tax increases are very serious.

Noting that they will continue to support and support the business community, Bolat said: “We will continue to protect our consumers and prevent them from being harmed by unfair treatment. It is our duty to create a competitive environment in which our producers, traders, sellers and consumers are balanced, moderate and satisfied.” he said.

Pointing out that the fight against inflation is progressing well, Bolat said that inflation has been reduced to 31 percent and will be further reduced.

“Last year there were defense industrial exports worth $10 million to $50 million.”

Stating that they will continue to fight and work and together make Türkiye one of the ten most powerful economies in the world, Minister Bolat said: “We are not in a position to sit down and cry or complain. We are very hopeful. Where Türkiye has come from in 23 years gives us hope for the future.” made the statement.

Recalling that defense industry exports worth $10 million to $50 million were made last year, Bolat said: “We have a defense industry in which nearly 100,000 research, development, engineering and technology experts work. Africa, Eurasia, Europe, the Middle East, Central Europe, the Balkans and South America want to cooperate with us.” he said.

Bolat pointed out that Türkiye is a reliable delivery country and continued his words as follows:


“There are two countries that can produce and produce quality products in all integrated sectors, from Morocco to China. One is China, the other is Turkey. We produce very important in the supply chain and export to European companies. In the last 22 years, 88,000 international companies came to do business in Turkey. 286 billion dollars of foreign direct investment came to Türkiye for production.”
