The Regulation on the procedures and principles for the work of notaries on holidays and public holidays, prepared by the Ministry of Justice, was published in the Official Gazette.
Thereafter, the notary service continues on Saturdays and Sundays, unless they coincide with public holidays, and the notarial transactions to be carried out by the notaries on duty are given a journal number that continues from the day before their completion.
Notaries are only allowed to carry out notarial business on public holidays and at times when on-call service is not guaranteed, which could lead to damage or delays in the preparation and certification of wills.
In provincial centers where there are a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 20 notarial offices, at least 1 notarial office will provide on-call service, and in places where more than 20 notarial offices operate, at least 5 percent of the total number of notarial offices in that location will provide on-call service. The Ministry of Justice will decide whether on-call notary services will be provided in districts other than the city center and how many notaries will provide these services, taking into account the current business situation and taking into account the opinion of the Notary Chamber and the Notary Association of Turkey.

The notarial chambers determine the notarial offices and notarial chambers that provide notary services on duty in the federal states and districts. The Notary Chambers shall submit the lists they prepare to the Türkiye Notary Association for approval at least three months in advance. Customs lists approved by the Union will be published on the Union website.
The daily working hours in on-duty notary offices are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the lunch break is between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
