According to the study “Perception of Artificial Intelligence in Society” conducted by the Artificial Intelligence Policy Association (AIPA) for Türkiye in general, the use and awareness of the technology in question continues to increase.
According to the report, 80.5 percent of Turkiye society, or four out of five people, are aware of artificial intelligence. The hearing rate about productive artificial intelligence tools in the country was 59.7 percent and the hearing rate about “agentic AI” tools was 30.7 percent.
It was observed that 50.1 percent of people who reported having heard of artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence or “agentic AI” tools had “basic knowledge” of these technologies. 11.1 percent of these people said they knew this technology “well” and 38.8 percent said they knew it “somewhat.”
The most famous artificial intelligence tool in Turkey was ChatGPT with 88 percent. Gemini followed GhatGPT with 35.4 percent, DeepSeek with 15.6 percent and Grok with 13.1 percent.
The usage rate of ChatGPT is 82.8 percent
According to the report, Türkiye's artificial intelligence usage rate was significantly higher than the world average. While 57.6 percent of participants said they use artificial intelligence tools in their daily lives, this rate is 16 percent worldwide.
ChatGPT, a well-known artificial intelligence tool from Turkey, takes the first place by far in the list of most used applications.
While ChatGPT's usage rate was 82.8 percent, this application was followed by Gemini with 43 percent, DeepSeek with 25.8 percent, Copilot with 24.1 percent, Grok with 17.2 percent and Canva with 11.5 percent.
The rate of people paying for artificial intelligence is 8.8 percent
Of those who use artificial intelligence, 41.8 percent said they prefer this technology for “personal” purposes, 39.4 percent for “business” purposes and 27.5 percent for “educational” purposes.
Those who use the technology in question for business said they prefer it for “information search” at 78.6 percent and for “idea generation” at 68.1 percent. Of those who prefer this technology for private purposes, 20 percent say they use it for information gathering and research and 16.7 percent use it for everyday needs.
Although the use of artificial intelligence tools is widespread in Turkey, it has been observed that the number of people paying for these applications is lower.
According to the report, the rate of those who paid for artificial intelligence tools was 8.8 percent. However, 22.2 percent of artificial intelligence users said they were considering switching to paid services within 6 months.
