The premiere of the documentary film “Beyond the Horizon”, coordinated by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TÜBİTAK and the Turkish Space Agency (TUA), was held at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center.
In his speech here, Kacır recalled that a year ago at this time the countdown to space travel of the first Turkish astronaut Alper Gezeravcı was counted.
Explaining that their excitement became even greater because the day scheduled for the launch was postponed several times, Kacır said:
“Actually, for us it wasn’t just a matter of waiting for those days. Since humanity's first space flight, in April 1961, we have wanted an astronaut to carry our star and crescent flag into space where it belongs.” We wanted to experience this pride together. To be a nation, to suffer. It means being together in joy, excitement and pride but also in sadness and being able to put aside our differences, forget our differences and at the same time experience the same excitement at the same time. When Naim Süleymanoğlu lifted three times his weight, we rejoiced together as if we had lifted the world. After every goal our national team scored, we rejoiced together. Of course, the shared joys we experienced in sports and art were unforgettable, but we wanted there to be more in recent years.
“We are now on a brand new journey of no return”
Emphasizing that the Turkish nation took its common pride to the sky, Kacır said that the works of the Turkish youth began to soar to the sky with their steel wings with their sweat and wisdom.
Stating that the names BAYRAKTAR, ANKA, AKINCI, HÜRKUŞ, HÜRJET, ATAK, GÖKBEY, KIZILELMA and KAAN, which recall heroic epics that melted mountains of iron, are engraved in memories, Kacır continued his words as follows:
“RASAT, GÖKTÜRK, İMECE and TÜRKSAT satellites have pushed the boundaries of our success beyond the sky. We are now on an irreversible, brand new journey. We are experiencing a revolution of self-confidence in the race of science and technology that supports this.” The world is talking about us and our successes. “Let us succeed.” We want to do as much as others, even more. We can't help but do good and compassion in the world. “For all those who wait, because this is the land of good people. As we succeed, we sense that we are not the only ones who are happy. The hearts of all who watch for humanity beat with us.”
“We are now also in this race”
Emphasizing that the first manned space mission carried out by Alper Gezeravcı opened a whole new page in this history, Kacır explained that from 7 to 70, the Turkish nation followed a scientific study from beginning to end with great attention, perhaps for the Zum first time.
Pointing out that the space exploration mission was talked about in households, schools and workplaces at that time, Kacır said:
“The size of the launch vehicle and the conditions of the microgravity environment were the subject of our discussions. Alper Gezeravcı carried the future of the Turkish nation, the dreams of Turkish youth and the hopes of Turkish children beyond the horizon. This means that the limits are “We are now also in this race.” Rather, Türkiye will have a stronger presence in the space race. “We will be one of the countries that can reach the moon. We will develop technologies for manned space programs. The days will come when we launch our own rockets. Then when we look back, we will remember with a smile what it was like.” It all started, how it came about and our unity tonight.
Kacır thanked the documentary's director Burcu Camcıoğlu and her team, the first astronauts Alper Gezeravcı and Tuva Cihangir Atasever, who inspired Turkish children with their courage and determination, as well as their families who raised them and the scientists who carried out their research into space and the realization of Turkey's first manned space mission and the documentary film To Those Who Contribute to the National Space program, leading the Turkish nation's self-confidence revolution with its strong will and eliminating all obstacles on the way to the National Technology Push, goals and limits with its vision. He thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who took him beyond the horizon, and the Turkish nation, which was with them in every moment of this excitement and did not shy away from their support and prayers.
“Türkiye will be one of the stakeholder countries for technology developers”
On the other hand, Minister Kacır said in his press release before the gala that 13 scientific experiments were carried out in space as part of this mission and a new page was opened for the Turkish scientific world.
Kacır stated that a time has begun when Turkish youth and children will not give up dreaming and that TEKNOFEST generations will achieve many more great things.
Stating that they will continue to strive hard for the manned space mission and the clear implementation of the steps they will take from now on under the leadership of President Erdoğan, Kacır stated that TUA and the Axiom Space company have entered into a new cooperation.
Kacir said:
“Turkey will now be one of the technology developer-stakeholder countries of international space stations in human space exploration. Turkey will now be a country contributing to the technology systems developed by space stations in the installation of research modules of these stations. Just like us.” “If we have succeeded in becoming a country that does world-leading work in aviation, I hope that we will use this opportunity to succeed in satellite technology.” “By leveraging our capabilities to a much higher level, we will do world-leading work.” Space Systems The sparkle in the eyes of our youth and children is our greatest source of strength.
Alper Gezeravcı said that they carried out a mission that helped young people reach the depths of space, where they entered space for the first time on the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
Gezeravcı emphasized that Turkey will raise its current capacity to a much higher level through space cooperation and will continue to do so, and thanked President Erdoğan and the Turkish nation for enabling them to reach this point.
Stating that this is the story of a very long journey and that they have been recording every moment of the astronauts for about 2.5 years, Burcu Camcıoğlu said, “I hope you will like it very much. It is very proud to witness an incredibly proud development.” Mission to be able to tell it and leave such a work to the archives of Turkey's future. “proud.” gave his assessment.
