Meta's statement said that the large-scale deployment of Nvidia technology will further strengthen existing relationships with the company and that Meta will support the construction of data centers optimized for artificial intelligence training and inference and support the core business.
The statement noted that these developments will support more efficient and large-scale artificial intelligence operations by driving significant improvements in performance per watt.
The statement said Meta will also use “Nvidia Confidential Computing” for the WhatsApp messaging application, enabling artificial intelligence-powered features across the platform and ensuring the privacy of user data.
The statement said Meta will leverage the “Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform” across its infrastructure to deliver artificial intelligence-scale networks, maximizing utilization rates while delivering predictable, low-latency performance and increasing both operational and power efficiency.
As part of the collaboration with Nvidia, engineers from both companies will optimize and accelerate cutting-edge AI models for critical workloads to improve the performance and efficiency of new AI capabilities used by billions of people around the world, Meta said in its statement.
Meta Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg, whose views were included in the statement, said they are excited to expand their partnership with Nvidia to build state-of-the-art clusters using their “Vera Rubin” platform and bring personal super information to everyone in the world.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also stated that no company has deployed artificial intelligence on the scale of Meta, noting that the company integrates groundbreaking research with industrial-scale infrastructure to power the world's largest personalization and recommendation systems for billions of users.
Huang explained that they will offer Meta's researchers and engineers Nvidia's entire platform as they lay the foundation for the next frontier of artificial intelligence through comprehensive co-design between central and graphics processing units, network infrastructure and software.
