Participating in the Eurosatory exhibition, one of the leading international events in the field of defense and security industry, which started in Paris, HAVELSAN presented its defense technologies and simulators for command control.
HAVELSAN Deputy General Director for International Business Development and Marketing Şevket Ünal gave his comments on this issue to AA correspondent.
Ünal stated that HAVELSAN has projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe and operates in approximately 25 countries and 5 continents.
Ünal pointed out that HAVELSAN, an organization of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, develops command and control defense technologies for air, land and naval forces, and stated that HAVELSAN also produces simulators for use in combat training both in Turkey and other countries.
Ünal pointed out that the simulators developed for the training of air, land and naval forces provide realistic scenarios of the situations that will be encountered in the operational area.
Ünal evaluated the Eurosatory fair as follows: “It is a center where international customers come. A considerable number of companies are represented here. Our flag is raised here. We exhibit our command and control defense technologies and simulation products,” he said.
Artificial intelligence technology continues to evolve
Ünal drew attention to the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and said, “When we started four or five years ago, we talked about artificial intelligence. But today, artificial intelligence is being applied,” he said.
Şevket Ünal pointed out that HAVELSAN uses artificial intelligence not only in autonomous systems but also in the development of simulators and command control defense technologies.
Ünal also stressed that they tested artificial intelligence technologies in developing the advanced combat management system.
ADVENT
Emphasizing the importance of the Network Supported Data Integrated Battle Management System (ADVENT) manufactured by HAVELSAN, Ünal said that the system has been exported to 5 or 6 countries around the world except Turkey and its market area is growing every year.
Ünal stated that ADVENT will be further strengthened by artificial intelligence and pointed out that ADVENT’s capacity and features will increase thanks to the virtual assistant they plan to add to the system.
Cybersecurity
Stating that cybersecurity is an integral part of HAVELSAN, Ünal pointed out that HAVELSAN developed its cybersecurity systems in Turkish and created a local Turkish cryptology algorithm with TÜBİTAK.
Emphasizing that HAVELSAN also provides consultancy and advisory services on cybersecurity and cyber awareness, Ünal stated that HAVELSAN is also part of the cybersecurity of Turkey's national fighter aircraft KAAN.
Ünal stated that they had developed simulators to provide flight experience to KAAN pilots and stressed that they had also prepared simulators for submarines.
Ünal said: “We can say that for the simulator area. We can create simulators for anything that flies or moves.” said.
