The study, carried out as part of the objectives of the “National Technology Move”, is intended to give voice to a wide range of people, from academics to industry representatives, from students to technology entrepreneurs.
Opinions and suggestions will be collected through the “yapayzekavizyonu.sanayi.gov.tr” platform and used as a data source in setting strategic priorities. Applications close on April 10th.
All opinions and suggestions are analyzed with a holistic and data-based approach through the Turkish main language model “Wise” developed by TÜBİTAK.
A global model
Recently, due to rapid developments in artificial intelligence technology, countries appear to have abandoned the long-term “strategy document” approach in their artificial intelligence policy, preferring instead the more operational and focused “action plan” format.
At this time when the race for artificial intelligence is accelerating between regions and countries from Europe to the Gulf, from East Asia to Latin America, Türkiye stands out for its decision to shape its strategy with the involvement of the entire society.
Türkiye's democratic and inclusive approach is similar to successful examples in the world.
A study similar to the report conducted in Canada last year, which collected the opinions of more than 11,000 people, is also being conducted in Turkey.
With this model, Türkiye aims to ensure that the strategy document is not only a technocratic text, but also a roadmap that is adopted and implemented by the entire society.
The current strategy is strengthened through concrete steps
Therefore, every citizen and institution that sees their opinion incorporated into the plan is expected to participate more actively in the implementation of the action plan.
The new action plan to be created is intended to significantly develop the current National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2021-2025, which consists of 6 strategic priorities and 119 measures.
It is intended that the opinions collected in this context will serve as a guide for concrete steps to be taken in critical areas such as infrastructure, workforce transformation, ethics and global competition.
Minister Kacır announced
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır drew attention to the vision of the process in his post yesterday and used the following statements:
“The ideas you share in this process, which is open to all our citizens, will help determine our country's strategic priorities in the field of artificial intelligence, effectively assess opportunities and implement concrete steps. Our goal is to make Türkiye one of the leading countries with a strong infrastructure that develops, produces and competes on a global level in artificial intelligence technologies.”
