Palestine: Israel killed 33,000 women and girls in two years

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the occasion of the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.”

“Palestinian women and girls today face some of the worst forms of violence, discrimination, torture and persecution in the modern world.” The statement said about 33,000 Palestinian women and girls have lost their lives to Israeli violence in the past two years.

The statement said Israel had committed “systematic crimes such as genocide, field executions, enforced disappearances, administrative detention, arbitrary arrests, torture and sexual violence, home demolition, land confiscation, settler terrorism, starvation and intimidation” against Palestinian women.

It stressed that Israel has denied thousands of women access to basic services by targeting hospitals and clinics, particularly maternity and mental health services and shelters.

“Occupied Israel uses advanced surveillance tools and technologies, such as artificial intelligence and electronic espionage, to target and intimidate the Palestinian population, particularly women,” the statement said. The expression was used.

It was reported that Israel's practices came at a time when the entire world was calling for “unity to end digital violence against women and girls.”

It was noted that the Palestinian government continues its efforts to implement human rights agreements, adopt policies and plans to combat violence against women, and empower women.

The statement noted the continuation of “international efforts to end the colonial occupation of Israel, implement the two-state solution and assert the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and return.”

The statement stated that international legal efforts should be strengthened to ensure that Israel is held accountable for the crimes it has committed, and emphasized that the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion and relevant United Nations resolutions should be taken into account to protect the Palestinian people.
