National technology is ready to hit the streets to make vehicles “talk”

ULAK Communications, which is committed to bringing national communication systems to the country and minimizing foreign dependence in this field, is bringing new technologies to the country with its capabilities.

ULAK Communications is leading the development of V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) technology in Turkey, which enables vehicles to communicate with each other and with the infrastructure around them using the products it develops.

The goal of this technology is to increase vehicle safety, improve traffic efficiency, and support autonomous driving systems. While V2X technology is expected to become reliable and widespread in the near future, it is also expected to be widely adopted around the world.

Thanks to this technology, vehicles communicate with traffic lights, road construction sites and emergency vehicles and offer advantages in many areas such as collision avoidance, traffic light optimization, increasing pedestrian safety and reducing CO2 emissions.

ULAK Communications is conducting various pilot projects to improve the applicability of this technology in Turkey. V2X is used as part of intelligent transportation systems; it provides important solutions for traffic management, emergency services and autonomous vehicle technologies.

Cooperation with vehicle manufacturers

ULAK Communication develops local and national products in the field of V2X technology to promote domestic innovation. While the products developed in this context participated in national and international exhibitions, they were also tested on the platforms of vehicle manufacturers in Turkey.

Nationally developed V2X systems will be able to transmit a lot of data such as location information, speed, fuel level, tire pressure, braking sensitivity and abnormalities in the vehicle, as well as important functions such as collision detection. In addition, the developed scenarios can digitally animate many commonly used scenarios such as smart intersection applications, emergency braking situations, weather information, locations of road construction work, encounters with ambulances and similar priority vehicles, and the transmission of parking information.

With the spread of 5G and beyond technologies around the world, machine-to-machine communication is becoming an important application area. The number of devices per square kilometer is 1 million in 5G, and the number of devices per square kilometer is expected to increase to 10 million in 6G. In this era when information security is becoming the focus, the development and use of domestic solutions is crucial.
