In his written statement, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır shared the details of the support to be provided within the scope of the HIT-30 High Technology Investment Program, which was launched with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and represents Turkey's path map in high technology.
Kacır emphasized that the global chip market exceeded $600 billion last year and continued:
“With the HIT-30 high-technology investment program, we aim to produce chips of 65 nanometers and below in our country. With a resource of $5 billion, including capital contribution and subsidies, the chips we need in areas such as automotive, electronics, defense and aerospace can be manufactured in Turkey. “As Turkey, with the development of artificial intelligence, we will meet our own needs and develop export capabilities in this fast-growing field.”
“Türkiye will be a high-tech production location”
Kacır pointed out that the program consists of many components and explained that it also supports battery production.
Kacır said:
“Our goal is to create a battery production capacity of 80 gigawatt hours in Turkey with support of up to $4.5 billion. In addition, we will provide grants of up to $6,000 per megawatt hour by 2030 for the development and production of batteries, which are urgently needed in the electric vehicle and energy storage sectors in Turkey.” “We will offer incentives, including: Turkey will become a high-technology manufacturing hub.”
