Leaders in technology and entrepreneurship meet at Take Off Istanbul

The summit, organized under the leadership of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey and the Presidential Investment Office of the Republic of Turkey, shaped the future vision by bringing together international investors, global technology leaders and successful startups around the world since 2018 in Istanbul. The summit, which features the names that will shape the future, attracts attention for the international names it hosts.

Omar Kunbargı (SpaceX)

Omar Kunbargi is Global Business Development Director at SpaceX. Kunbargi focuses on the potential of spacecraft to carry humanity into a multi-planet future and provides strategic advice for space programs by working with government leaders and space agencies around the world. With this role promoting innovative solutions in the space industry, it is doing important work that is shaping humanity's future in space.


Tejpaul Bhatia (Axiom Space)

Tejpaul Bhatia has more than 25 years of strategic leadership experience and has played important roles in many organizations, from the world's largest companies to fast-growing startups. He currently serves as Axiom Space's Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), driving revenue generation and developing commercial space growth strategies. At the Take Off Venture Summit, Tej will speak on the topic “From Ground Control to Growth: Strategic Leadership at New Frontiers.”


Kojo Boakye (Meta)

Kojo Boakye is Meta's Vice President of Public Policy for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. With over 20 years of experience, Boakye is a leading company specializing in the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in development processes. Throughout his career, he has driven technology-focused development projects, working closely with governments, fixed and mobile operators, development agencies, online service providers, content producers and non-governmental organizations. Kojo Boakye will deliver his speech titled “Supporting Innovation and Growth: The Power of Open Source Artificial Intelligence for Startups.”


Jeff Jo (Samsung Electronics Türkiye)

Jeff Jo began his career in 1997 in the corporate affairs department at Samsung Electronics headquarters in South Korea. In 2009, he was the head of the mobile division in Thailand. Jo was appointed head of mobile in Australia in 2014 and became president of Samsung Electronics Canada in 2019. Jeff Jo, a leader who has held key positions at Samsung for more than 25 years, has been appointed President of Samsung Electronics Turkey, effective December 11, 2023. Jeff Jo will give his talk entitled “Artificial Intelligence for All: Hyperconnectivity for All of Us in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”.


Steven Hoffman (Founders Space)

Steven Hoffman is President and CEO of Founders Space. Hoffman, Entrepreneurs, Governments and Corporations; is a global market maker that helps develop new markets, drive innovation and accelerate growth. Hoffman has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs launch their companies in Silicon Valley and around the world. He has also advised major companies such as Huawei, Alibaba, Bosch, Intel, Disney, Warner Brothers, MetLife, NBC, Siemens and Ford on innovation strategies. At the summit, which will take place on December 11th and 12th, Hoffman will deliver his speech entitled “Artificial Intelligence: Promise and Danger.”


Myladie Stoumbou (Microsoft)

Myladie Stoumbou is an experienced digital executive, executive and strategist. As a Senior Regional Director at Microsoft, he works with promising scale-ups in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Stoumbou is a mentor for the MIT Enterprise Forum, The People's Trust and Microsoft for Startups.


Alex Malebranche (GitHub)

Alex Malebranche, Global Engagement Lead at Github for Startups, decided to start his own technology company, PlaneAhead, after years of global experience at Amazon and Amazon Web Services. As a solopreneur, Alex successfully raised venture capital and made significant strides in entrepreneurship. He then moved to GitHub and helped the company launch its first startup program.


Dr. Dilek Gürsoy (GANÎ)

Today one of the most famous heart surgeons in Germany, Dr. Dilek Gürsoy made history when she became the first female doctor in Europe to perform an artificial heart transplant. Gürsoy, who is also an entrepreneur, leads innovative projects in the healthcare sector as founder and CEO of GANÎ Clinic. Gürsoy, who was awarded the title of “Physician of the Year” by the German Medical Club in 2019, gained global recognition by appearing on the cover of Forbes magazine.


Çağlayan Çetin (Trendyol Group)

Çağlayan Çetin is President of Trendyol Group, one of the world's leading e-commerce platforms. Today, Trendyol is a multi-category online marketplace connecting sellers and brands with customers in Turkey, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, Azerbaijan and the Gulf States. Before joining Trendyol in 2021, Çetin had a distinguished career in corporate finance, working as Senior Managing Director and Country Head of Turkey at Goldman Sachs.


Ahmet Akyol (Aselsan)

Ahmet Akyol, as engineer, manager, consultant, board member and vice president; He has held various positions in institutions such as the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of National Defense, TÜBİTAK, HAVELSAN and QUANTUM3D. Following his duties as President of Defense Industry, he was appointed General Manager by decision of the ASELSAN Board of Directors in 2023. Ahmet Akyol is also a board member of TÜBİTAK-SAGE and represents our country in the Sensors and Electronics Panel of the NATO Science and Technology Organization (STO).


Önder Güler (Google Cloud Türkiye)

While Önder Güler currently serves as Director of Google Cloud Türkiye, he has been leading Google's cloud computing business in Turkey for ten years. Digital has diverse experience as an IT supplier in leadership positions, working with C-level customers at Microsoft and Cisco. His roles at Atos and Vodafone strengthened his expertise in the cloud-based utility/cloud model in solution development and delivery. He extended his experience gained as a global systems integrator at Atos with multi-million dollar telecommunications services contracts signed with corporate clients in the banking, retail and manufacturing sectors at Vodafone.


Ali Taha Koc (Turkcell)

Dr. began his professional career in 2006 as a research and development engineer at Intel in the USA. Ali Taha Koç developed and led many international projects and became one of the ten engineers who produced the most patents and received awards in 2013. After returning to Turkey in 2014, he began working as the Prime Minister's Chief Advisor and was appointed Director of Information Technologies of the Presidency in the same year. In 2018, he was named head of the Presidential Digital Transformation Office. In addition to his duties as President, he is also a member of TÜRKSAT Satellite Communication Kablo TV and Business Inc. He served as a board member. Dr. has been General Manager of Turkcell since October 2023. Ali Taha Koç is also a board member of the Turkish Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG). Koç will address the topics “Unchanging paradigms in the era of connected technologies” at the summit.
