Palestinian press news reported that Jafaravi was killed by Israeli-backed illegal gangs in the Sabra district, south of Gaza City.
It was stated that Jafaravi was attacked while working on documenting the destruction he caused in Israel's Sabra district and that his belongings were stolen by gang members.
Images were shared on social media of the body of Palestinian journalist Jafaravi, wearing a steel vest with the words “Press” written on it, being taken to the Al-Ehli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.
Many Palestinian journalists regretted Jafaravi's death and expressed their condolences.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, an Interior Ministry source in Gaza noted that it also targeted forcibly displaced Palestinians who returned to the north of the Gaza Strip from the south after the ceasefire began.
Caferavi, who conveyed the needs of Palestinians during the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza to more than 330,000 followers on his US-based social media account Instagram, became known primarily in the Arab world.
The Israeli army targeted Jafaravi by issuing counter-statements to his posts.
