The written statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that more than 5,000 amputations were carried out in Gaza during the genocide that the killer Israel began on October 8, 2023 and lasted two years.
The statement noted that Gaza had the highest rate of child amputations in the world compared to the population.
It was stated that a fund for the rehabilitation of amputees has been established and an international fundraising campaign will be launched to support this fund.
It was noted that the health system had collapsed as a result of the Israeli attacks on Gaza and that there had been an unprecedented collapse of the rehabilitation system due to the increasing number of injured.
The statement said that the number of injured in Gaza exceeded 170,000 in September 2025 and that it is estimated that at least a quarter of them require medium and long-term rehabilitation.
