In France, a mosque and a Turkish club were racially attacked

While copies of the Holy Koran were torn up and thrown to the ground by a group in the mosque in Puy-en-Velay in the province of Haute-Loire, a bullet was left in the mailbox of the association in Montreal-la-Cluse in the province of Ain.

In its written statement, the Islamic Council of France (CFCM) responded to the attack on the mosque and sent a message of solidarity with the mosque community.

The statement stressed that “the attack on the Muslim holy book in the middle of a place of worship constitutes a serious act of Islamophobia that should not be taken lightly under any circumstances.”

In the statement, the government warned that the risk of such actions has increased recently due to the spread of “biased surveys, reports and labeling offers” against Muslims, and urged Muslims to exercise caution.

The statement on the DİTİB leadership's attack on the club said: “We condemn this attack, which targets the Turkish society of Montreal-la-Cluse and the practice of coexistence, and wish our club members a speedy recovery.” Statements were recorded.

The statement said that “this action aimed at creating fear and threat” would be prosecuted and called on relevant authorities to show common sense and sensitivity.

The survey, titled “A current assessment of the relationship between Muslims in France and Islam and Islamism,” published on November 18 by polling firm Ifop, drew criticism for violating the principle of “impartiality” and inciting hatred against Muslims. CFCM also responded to the “instrumentalization” of surveys among Muslim citizens.
