From TÜBİTAK to the world: Keep watching Turkey

Mandal conducted research in Gebze, where he participated in the program prepared for the flight of the second Turkish astronaut Tuva Cihangir Atasever.

Mandal stated that they have been witnessing new developments in space since last year, from the İMECE satellite to Alper Gezeravcı's first manned space mission, and also recalled that they sent Türksat 6A to the US on June 4 to launch it into space.

Mandal pointed out that Atasever is now flying into space to conduct a suborbital research flight, which is also one of the first.

Emphasizing that the particularly beautiful part of this excitement is that this event was held at TÜBİTAK Science High School with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Mandal said he does not believe that these are all coincidences.

Mandal stated that Gezeravcı had conducted 13 experiments in space, Atasever seven experiments and more would follow.

“We will also send Turksat 6A to 36,500 kilometers”

Mandal emphasized that all these studies represent Turkey’s space science mission and said:

“Our friend Tuva had received all the training as a research astronaut, just like Mr. Alper. The dimension he brought to our country's agenda in this respect is space travel, where he said, 'We are also in space.' Both Mr. Alper and Mr. Tuva Cihangir consider space flights as a scientific mission and a research mission. This is not a coincidence. We will launch Türksat 6A on July 8. We will make a hard landing on the moon in 2026 and carry out our lunar mission with our own lunar gezer vehicle in our mission, which we call a soft landing on the moon. 'We will carry out our research work. We sent İMECE to 700 kilometers and we will send Türksat 6A to 36 thousand 500 kilometers.'”

Mandal stated that these are all milestones on the roadmap of a will, especially of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and continued as follows:

“Today we are with our students at the Science High School in Turkey's Science and Technology Base. Because our young people will see the continuity of this process, the better, more ambitious mission of flying to Mars after 384,000 kilometers into space. Today we remind our young people of their responsibility: flying 384,000 kilometers to the moon means having a say in all kinds of technologies. That is why I am happy for our country and I continue to follow Turkey.
