TÜRKSAT General Director Atalay evaluated the activities for 2025 and the goals for 2026.

Stating that this year, in addition to the services provided so far, they have carried out infrastructure works to expand into other areas, Atalay said: “We have started work on the In-flight Internet Connection (IFC), a project that will make us first a regional and then a global player and open us to the aviation industry. It was completed this year. We have signed the contract for the IFC project with AJet. We have also largely completed our technical infrastructure in this project. We have our own original software and software largely implemented.” will begin operating this service for AJet aircraft in the first quarter of next year.” he said.
Stating that they provide the Internet connection service through TÜRKSAT satellites and together with TCI Aircraft Interiors, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, Atalay said, “In an airline segment called 'low-cost regional' such as AJet, there was no Internet service, and this service will be the first time. can be given.” gave his assessment.
Türksat 7A will replace satellite 3A
Recalling that one of TÜRKSAT's main areas of activity is satellite services, Atalay explained that they are Türkiye's flag bearers and representatives in space in this field, representing the country with six satellites in the sky.
Pointing out that satellites have a certain lifespan, Atalay said: “Our Turksat 3A satellite is 15 years old in 2023. It is currently being expanded today and in the future.” “In order not to lose the orbit rights, we must place a satellite there within three years and send a new satellite to replace 3A by 2030 at the latest.” he said.
Construction of the data center begins
Continuing his words, Atalay stated that data is the most valuable treasure for all institutions and countries and that the global amount of data has doubled in 2.5 years:
“There is a need for a large number of data centers in our country. As TÜRKSAT, we serve many institutions, we produce and host various types of services. For this reason, there was a rapid demand for a data center. The work on this topic, which was started a few years ago, has now ended, we are in the tender process. We are expected to complete our tender in January. This data center in Gölbaşı that we will create will have a very high data storage capacity. It will have a size It features has eight times the data storage capacity of TÜRKSAT while having high data processing capacity “We are creating a data center that will be crucial for artificial intelligence and similar services that require high-level processing. We are in the final phase next year.”
“E-government will be opened and exported abroad”
Atalay stated that E-Government Gateway is one of Türkiye's success stories and that E-Government is among the top three applications in the world among the examples of digital government and digital transformation.
Pointing out that many public services have been electronicized and offered to citizens through the e-government gateway, Atalay said: “Around 8,800 services are offered here. 68 million of our citizens have been registered as users here. About 4 billion accesses have been made in 2025,” he said.
Recalling that many services previously obtained from various public institutions are now available through the e-government gateway regardless of time and place, Atalay said:
“We have developed a much more compact version of this with newer technology for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, where a digital state infrastructure has been created. We want to sell this experience to friendly and brotherly countries in our own narrow geography and the geography of our hearts: “This is the year TÜRKSAT opens to the world.” TÜRKSAT does not fit within the borders of Türkiye. We were mainly active domestically. Our skills and abilities have reached this level. Our goal for 2026 and beyond is to become a regional player and then a global player whose products and services can be sold around the world.”
