HAVELSAN, Türkiye's market leader and one of the world's leading simulator manufacturers, received both FNPT II MCC and FTD 2 certificates from the Turkish Civil Aviation General Directorate (SHGM) with its Boeing 737NG Flight Training Device Level 2 simulator.
The simulator was delivered to SunExpress's Antalya Training Center, strengthening the airline's internal pilot training infrastructure. Once the certification process is complete, the simulator is ready to support Boeing 737NG pilot training at the center.
This certification is a milestone for the Turkish civil aviation training industry. The simulator is the first FTD (Flight Training Device) Level 2 simulator manufactured and certified in Turkey. With this first installation, HAVELSAN expanded its product portfolio by adding the FTD Level 2 platform to its popular complete flight simulator solutions.
Although these devices are not as large or mobile as full flight simulators, they serve as high-tech systems that have an exact replica of the cockpit and in which pilots conduct procedural studies and emergency training.
The STARVIEW-B collimation vision system originally developed by HAVELSAN is also used in the simulator. This system provides high-resolution visual representation to increase the pilot's sense of realism and procedural accuracy. The integration of a domestically developed display system strengthens Türkiye's expertise in advanced simulator technologies and supports HAVELSAN's goals in this area.

Mehmet Akif Nacar, General Manager of HAVELSAN, said that at a time when the company increased its infrastructure investments to strengthen its claim in flight simulators, the company has both increased its product variety and registered the level achieved.
Nacar emphasized that the FTD Level 2 certificate represents an important achievement for Türkiye and HAVELSAN and thanked SunExpress for their trust and cooperation during this project.
