Cooperation between Türkiye and Ghana in the field of technology and science

The “94th Board Meeting” of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO) was held in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The meeting was attended by WAITRO and the President of the Turkish Council for Scientific and Technological Research (TÜBİTAK), Prof. DR. Hasan Mandal was also present.

Mandal met with Ghana's President Mahamudu Bawumia here. It was reported that issues such as the importance of strategic cooperation between Türkiye and Ghana and future partnerships were discussed during the meeting.

Mandal then signed a protocol with Ghana's Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ophelia Mensah Hayford, to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, technology and innovation.

Commenting on the matter, Mandal stated that with this protocol, TÜBİTAK and Ghana aim to support innovative studies through joint research and development projects.

“We will continue to work to be successful together”

Mandal noted that they hope the protocol will contribute to sustainable development by increasing the scientific and technological capacity of the two countries, saying, “We will continue to shape the future together and work to achieve success together with the steps we take, far beyond the boundaries of science and technology,” he said.
