ASELSAN signed a contract worth 26 million 70 thousand dollars within the framework of the supply of medical imaging systems for home use. This contract is the largest commercial contract that ASELSAN has signed to date in the healthcare sector.
In line with its vision of “dual use of technology”, ASELSAN conducts studies on health technologies with its knowledge and experience in the field of military electronics.
The company supports the domestic technology development strategy in Turkey's healthcare systems with its cutting-edge technology, design/production infrastructure and human resources.
Türkiye's annual import of medical equipment is estimated at $3 billion, and the share of imaging equipment is estimated at $500 million.
By bringing the know-how from military defense technologies such as imaging, microwave, radar, electro-optics and power electronics to the healthcare field, ASELSAN has created its main equipment portfolio in the healthcare field with “Imaging Devices”, “Diagnostic and Monitoring Devices” and “Life Support Devices”.
ASELSAN's first medical imaging product
The mobile digital X-ray machine (ADR-M100), developed by ASELSAN with national resources and the opinions and suggestions of medical professionals, was used for the first time last year at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, one of the established hospitals in Türkiye.
The ASELSAN mobile digital X-ray machine is designed as a portable upper segment X-ray machine, which can be used in intensive care units of public, university, private and field hospitals, operating rooms, emergency services and various clinics for patients who cannot go to the radiology department or whose admission is difficult.
The ADR-M100 mobile digital X-ray machine has a motorized motion function and can scan the entire body with a power of 32 kW.
The device has a CE certificate and is ASELSAN's first medical imaging product.
The device achieves high imaging capability at low doses and is very easy to manipulate thanks to its movable vertical and horizontal arms.
In emergency situations, ASELSAN's mobile X-ray machine is ready to take photos as soon as the system is switched on, allowing images to be taken quickly.
