Applications continue for the “Smart Transportation Competition” organized by İGA Istanbul Airport as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival. As part of the TEKNOFEST technology competitions, not only are our lives made easier, but intelligent transport applications are also being implemented that make all types of transport safer.
The competition, which aims to combine the individual's sense of social responsibility with their technological knowledge and experience and create projects that benefit society, aims to implement innovations and technological developments in the field of transport that have a human impact Lives and applicable projects impact.
Through investments in the development of technologies and the establishment of a production unit, TEKNOFEST contributes to the development of a vision in the field of intelligent transport technologies. While the Smart Transportation Competition encourages students to develop projects that bring social benefit, it also aims to use technology in a way that adds value to social life.
The aim of the competition is to develop projects that solve existing problems in the transport sector by combining individuals' awareness of social benefits with their technological knowledge and experience. Competition, which enables the integrated application of modern technology and management strategies to transport systems, creates opportunities to make life easier by solving technological and economic problems.
The aim of the Smart Transportation Competition is to shorten travel times, increase traffic safety, improve mobility and ensure energy efficiency. In the competition, which is held under the three main themes of land, air and sea transport, young people in each category are asked to develop innovative projects for the needs of the future. “Intelligent traffic management and optimization”, “Autonomous vehicles and intelligent vehicle technologies”, “Intelligent parking systems”, “Traffic safety and emergency management”, “Electric vehicle network and charging stations” and “People transport and service systems” in land transport Solutions are being sought for such problems . On the other hand, projects for the efficient use of air traffic are being developed on the topics of “Smart Airport Management”, “Drones and Air Transport”, “Air Traffic Management and Optimization” and “Smart Aircraft Systems”. In maritime transport, projects are to be developed under titles such as “Autonomous maritime transport and intelligent ships”, “Maritime traffic management”, “Sustainable maritime transport”, “Intelligent loading and unloading systems in ports” and “Monitoring and early detection of marine pollution”. “Warning systems” will be the transport systems improve. The aim is to meet the future needs of society by bringing them to a safer, more sustainable and technologically advanced level.
The competition, open to students in Turkey and abroad, is divided into three different categories: secondary school level, high school level and university level and above. This year, the winning teams of the competition will receive prizes worth a total of 540,000 TL. The application deadline for the competition ends on February 20, 2025.
