“5G will make many direct and indirect contributions to the economy. With 5G, citizens will experience an increase in speed of up to tenfold and will be able to use their mobility much more effectively on the path to a digital society. One of the most concrete effects of this transformation will be the change in the smartphone ecosystem.”
“We assume that the manufacturers will show the necessary commitment”
Stating that there are currently about 63 million devices in Turkey that are not 5G compatible, Turnacı said that citizens who want to experience 5G technology are expected to turn to compatible new generation devices.
Pointing out that this situation will seriously affect mobile phone sales, Turnacı said:
“There may be a possibility of an increase in sales of up to 100 percent. We assume that manufacturing companies will show the necessary commitment to bring their products to citizens at the most affordable prices. Increasing domestic production in this area is particularly important for technological change. Domestic brands should develop devices compatible with 5G. This will be a strategic step that will contribute to the digital independence and competitiveness of our country.”
Emphasizing that 5G technology, with its ultra-high speeds, low latency and the ability to connect millions of devices simultaneously, ushers in a radical change in both the business world and daily life, Turnacı explained that this technology will bring to life a wide range of innovations, from mobile games to cloud-based applications, from artificial intelligence to the Internet of Things.
“This technology will reach a significant share of the global economy”

“From a sectoral perspective, 5G paves the way for the formation of new business models in areas such as smart cities, autonomous vehicles, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0. This transformation will accelerate the growth of key sectors such as health, education, logistics and manufacturing, providing long-term impetus to the country's economy. The 5G market continues to grow rapidly around the world. In the coming years, this technology will reach a significant share of the global economy. As investments in 5G increase, so does the diversity of products and services in this area will increase. “Achieving a strong position in the table depends on the determined continuation of the steps and investments initiated today.”
Stating that 5G is not only a technology investment but also a matter of vision, Turnacı added that this new era, which will be a strong driving force on the path of digital transformation in Türkiye, will both support economic development and touch every aspect of social life.
