Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, in his speech at the natural gas delivery ceremony to Hafik District in Sivas, said that they had supplied natural gas to the district as part of the work started 10 months ago.
Bayraktar stated that it aims to increase the number of natural gas subscribers in the district to 1,250, stating that natural gas will be used throughout Hafik.
Recalling that Sivas city center was supplied with natural gas in 2005, Bayraktar said: “In Sivas there are only two districts left where natural gas is not supplied. Hopefully we can announce the good news about this at our congress today,” he said.
“85 percent of our population now has access to natural gas”
Bayraktar pointed out that natural gas is compatible with convenience, comfort, clean air and the environment, saying, “It is actually one of the most important projects of the AK Party's 22-year rule,” he said.
“When the AK Party came to power, our president set a goal and said: 'On this day, we will bring natural gas, which is only available in five provinces, to every province, every nook, every corner of Turkey. Our women especially will have this environmentally friendly, comfortable fuel. “The atmosphere of our cities will change,” he said. Bayraktar said the following:
“This was a big goal because natural gas was only available in five provinces at the time. If you think about Turkey, today there are 81 provinces, a difficult geography covering over 780,000 square meters. Therefore, it is not so easy to transport natural gas here. In line with our President's goal and vision: “Thank God, today there is natural gas in 81 provinces, 908 settlements and 222 organized industrial zones in Turkey. 85 percent of our population now has access to natural gas.” “
Minister Bayraktar stated that they intend to bring natural gas to the few parts of Türkiye that have not yet been visited.
Stating that natural gas will be imported and offered to households, businesses and industry, Bayraktar said: “With the national energy and mining policy in 2016, we as Türkiye will produce it ourselves. If so, we will look for it.” “We will find it, and when we find it, we will extract it from underground and bring that natural gas to our homes and our industries.” “We said,” he said.

Recalling that Turkey decided to explore for natural gas with its ships in its own seas, the blue homeland, Bayraktar said that many obstacles were placed in their way.

Minister Bayraktar emphasized that the natural gas produced had been made usable in households.
Bayraktar pointed out that they are now delivering the natural gas produced to 3 million households, saying:
“Praise God, our production is increasing day by day. By 2028, we will hopefully be using our own natural gas in 20 million households in Türkiye. Our goal is to make our country energy independent under the leadership of our President.” in the Turkish century. Regarding energy support for citizens, Bayraktar explained that 65 percent of natural gas bills would be covered by the state.
Bayraktar pointed out that there is up to 60 percent government support for electricity and explained that low-income citizens will also be supported.

Abdullah Güler, chairman of the AK Party's TBMM group, also stated that the people of Hafik will start using natural gas and clean energy.
Explaining that they are fulfilling their promises step by step, Güler said: “Hopefully next summer we will put into operation the recreation area and settlement that fits Hafik Lake. The tender for our 10-bed state hospital has also been completed. Hopefully.” “We will quickly complete our hospital with the necessary land supplies,” he said.
After the speeches, Bayraktar, Güler and their entourage lit a fire due to the district's natural gas supply.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Nevzat Şatıroğlu, Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek, AK Party Sivas MPs Hakan Aksu and Rukiye Toy, AKSA Natural Gas General Director Alper Konyalı and citizens Provincial protocol.
