Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır attended the signing ceremony of the TÜRKPATENT Academy Promotion and Artificial Intelligence Supported Digital Transformation Project at the institution.
Pointing out that the process of creating products and services from innovation, which is called “innovation”, Kacır makes it possible to transform human beings' unlimited potential into economic and social value, he said that the diversified increase in transportation and communication options eliminate distances and make it possible to access a much wider range of products and services.
Stating that innovative branded products and services that provide high value and focus on the target group are considered the key to making a difference in the business world and sustaining success, Kacır continued with his words as follows:
“The main factor that determines the market valuation of the most successful companies in the world today is their intellectual capital. For this reason, we see improving our country's ability to offer original, innovative and competitive products and services in all areas as the key.” We have taken important steps over the last 22 years. Pointing out that converting innovative ideas into economic value will open the doors to new inspiration and inventions, Kacır said:
“Increasing our intellectual property capacity is a source of hope for us. We have grown our commercial property portfolio of valid registrations from 93,000 to over 2 million in 22 years. We rank 12th in the world in domestic patent applications, 6th 22 years ago, the number of patent applications filed in our country was only 414, and in Turkey only one domestic patent application was filed per day. “We broke a new record in the number of domestic patent applications, increasing to 10,186. We see this success as a sign that Turkey is rising in all areas of the world stage.”
