Minister Işıkhan, in his speech at the “Veterans of the Turkish Century” program held at the Presidential Complex with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, recalled that this year was declared the “Year of Pensioners” with the approval and instructions of the President. Stating that President Erdoğan's strongest supporters are pensioners, Işıkhan said that pensioners contribute to the past, present and future of this country with their sweat, wisdom and prayers.
Işıkhan pointed out that this year they have carried out important social, cultural and academic programs and studies for pensioners and the pension system, which they also consider as a reason for gratitude, and reminded that they carry out these studies in collaboration with other societal stakeholders , especially the public, have carried out institutions.
“We used retired consultants”
Stating that they provide pensioners with thousands of campaigns and activities, from transportation to communication, from accommodation to cultural tours, from cinema and theater screenings to shopping discounts, Işıkhan stated that they have set up pension desks in 81 provinces and assigned them “pension advisors”. Stating that they are trying to make the lives of retirees easier, increase their happiness and make their contribution to the development of this country visible on every platform, Işıkhan said that this is among the steps they have taken on the development path since they arrived After coming to power in 2002, the reforms they implemented in the social security system were among the most important milestones in Turkey.
Stating that when they came to power, they took over SSK, a system that was on the verge of bankruptcy, Işıkhan achieved great transformation success and implemented a sustainable social security model in a short period of time.
