The competition authority did not punish Google

According to the announcement on the competition authority's website, Alphabet Inc, Google llc, Google International llc, Google Ireland Limited and Google Advertising and Marketing Ltd. The investigation against the economic integrity of Şti (Google) has been completed.

The investigation launched last year into allegations that the company had violated competition law by abusing its dominant position in the general search services market by making it more difficult for other websites to operate has been closed.

As part of the investigation, various search features such as “Videos”, “Users also asked this”, “Translate box”, “Sports box”, “Weather box” that Google offers on the desktop and mobile search results page were examined, as well as allegations that they were pushed and caused traffic loss.

As a result of the review, the Panel concluded that Google held a dominant position in the market for general search services, but did not abuse its dominant position in that market and did not impose a fine.

A further investigation into the company is ongoing

Investigations are also currently underway into allegations that Google favors its own products/services through various conducts in the advertising technology supply chain, where the company operates in a vertically integrated structure.

On the other hand, the authority imposed a fine of 1.25 billion lira on Google in the four investigations conducted so far.
