In his post on his social media account, Kacır said that the İMECE observation satellite developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY and launched on April 15, 2023, successfully completed its mission from the moment it was placed in orbit.
Stating that all critical components, including the electro-optical camera, which enables the capture of high-resolution images from about 700 kilometers away, are local and national, Kacır continued his words as follows:
“With the commissioning of the İMECE satellite, Turkey has demonstrated its expertise in space technologies. Hopefully, in the week of July 8, 2024, we will launch Turkey's first national communications satellite, TÜRKSAT 6A, and be one of the 11 countries in the world that can develop communications satellites.”
