The agricultural technology competition, organized by the T3 Foundation as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, aims to give participants the opportunity to use technology to create innovative solutions to problems in agriculture and livestock. High school, associate degree, bachelor's, master's and doctoral students studying in Turkey and abroad are eligible to apply for the competition.
At the TEKNOFEST agricultural technologies competition to reshape the future of agriculture, young people are expected to propose technological solutions related to agriculture and animal husbandry, while also proposing projects in the fields of computer science, mechanics, electrical/electronics and software develop.
In addition, the competition, which aims to strengthen the agro-ecosystem through developments in agricultural technology, will evaluate projects in areas such as crop protection, crop nutrition, seed-planting, soil analysis and crop-threshing technologies, particularly smart agricultural applications.
Young people can also take part in the competition with projects being prepared under various headings such as precision agriculture, projects related to irrigation, fertilization and greenhouse automation systems, sowing, automatic guidance systems, early warning systems, agricultural weather station technologies, animal husbandry technologies, imaging and the use of drone technologies in of agriculture.
In the competition, the first place winners in the “High School” category will receive a prize of 50,000 TL, the second place winner will receive a prize of 40,000 TL, the third place winner will receive a prize of 30,000 TL, and the first place winners will receive a prize of 30,000 TL. University graduates and above will receive a prize of 60,000 TL, the second place winner will receive a prize of 50,000 TL and the third place winner will receive a prize of 40,000 TL.
Achievements in the field of agriculture
Participants who have created success stories in many areas also achieve significant success in agriculture-related competitions. By participating in the Take Off Entrepreneurship Summit, Move On made tractors autonomous by giving them visibility thanks to the artificial intelligence-based autonomous TAS and TASAI kits and cameras. They analyze the data collected using the MCP Agriculture platform.
Move On, who is also a graduate of the TEKNOFEST Entrepreneurship Program, received an investment worth 50 million TL. Move On also sells the kits they develop at home and abroad.
Farmingo, finalist in the agricultural technology competition at TEKNOFEST 2021 and 2022, has developed autonomous spraying sets, precision sensors for agriculture and a simple and complementary digital platform.
Farmingo's intelligent spray set can be easily integrated into old-type agricultural machines and also used in new-type agricultural machines. In addition, unlike other sprayers, it can control the spraying process instantly using the mobile application specifically designed for the spraying kit.
Farmingo, which is also a graduate of the TEKNOFEST Entrepreneurship Program, sells the kits and sensors it develops.
Helimore Aviation, finalist in the agricultural technology competition at TEKNOFEST 2021 and 2022, produces 70 kg of seeds and granular fertilization with the MH50 series. They developed an autonomous aircraft with a spray capacity of fifty liters that can cover three decades of land in a total of six minutes. With the vehicle, which has an air time of 10-12 minutes, it can cultivate an average of 8 decades of land and spray 22 decades of land in 10-12 minutes of air time. Helimore Aviation, also a graduate of the TEKNOFEST Enterprise Program, continues to sell and rent the agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles it developed.
TEKNOFEST technology competitions 2024
The world's largest technology competitions, organized within the framework of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, provide 30 million TL in awards and over 55 million TL in material support to technology enthusiasts who demonstrate excellence in prestigious competitions under the motto “You are”. TEKNOFEST technology competitions, the largest award-winning technology competitions in Turkey's history, with more competition categories opening every year compared to last year, will be organized into 46 main categories and 117 subcategories this year.
As part of TEKNOFEST 2024, wireless communications, blockchain, air defense systems, financial technologies, unmanned marine vehicles, smart Wi-Fi coverage and TEKNOFEST Robolig competitions are open for applications for the first time this year.
