Trade Minister Bolat will travel to Brussels

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat will pay a comprehensive working visit to Brussels, the capital of Belgium.

The main focus of Bolat's contacts in Brussels will be on protecting Turkey's established supply chains and profits from the Customs Union from protectionist and inward-looking industrial policies such as “Made in EU” that have come to the fore under the EU's recently implemented Industrial Accelerator Act.

In this context, the message is emphasized at the highest level that Türkiye is an essential production, R&D and investment partner for EU industry and that unilateral restrictions will harm the competitiveness and sustainability of European industry.

As part of his intensive two-day Brussels program, Bolat will hold bilateral meetings with European Commission Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic, Commissioner for Economy, Efficiency, Implementation and Simplification Valdis Dombrovskis and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's Cabinet Chief Björn Seibert.

Türkiye's role in global supply chains is strengthened

Minister Bolat will meet with the management of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association and top managers of global automobile manufacturers at a round table discussion and discuss the strategic position of the Turkish automotive industry in the European value chain.

As part of the program, Bolat will meet with the permanent representatives of EU member states, the leadership of the European Business Association, as well as representatives of the Turkish business community and Brussels-based NGOs, strengthening Türkiye's trusted role in global supply chains.

Turkey will continue to pursue constructive dialogue channels at the highest level in Brussels, with the determination to develop and deepen the trade ecosystem it has built with the EU based on the Customs Union.
