New loan package of 250 billion lira from the EKK to industrialists

An EKK meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

The meeting at the Presidential Complex was attended by Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat, AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, AK Party Deputy Chairman Nihat Zeybekci, Presidential Strategy and Budget Chairman İbrahim Şenel, Central Bank of the President of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Fatih Karahan, Head of the Presidential Investment and Finance Office Burak Dağlıoğlu and some deputy ministers took part.

The written statement following the meeting said that the global economy is undergoing a comprehensive process of change, characterized by geopolitical developments, green and digital transformation, and the restructuring of trade and supply chains.

The statement noted that this process brings both new risks and important opportunities for countries, while shaping production, investment, trade and labor policies. The following was determined:

“Our macroeconomic fundamentals, strengthened thanks to the measures we have decisively implemented, increase our economy's resilience to shocks and its ability to adapt to changing global conditions. While our country continues its uninterrupted growth for 23 quarters, the unemployment rate remains at single-digit levels. Although the current account deficit has increased slightly due to the geopolitical tensions in our region, we expect it to remain at a sustainable level thanks to our gains. With our policy of structural change, we support export-oriented growth and the competitiveness of the real economy. In this context, we are expanding the scope of the Investment Committed Advance Loan program and increasing its budget to 750 billion Turkish lira. We are also implementing a new loan package of 250 billion Turkish lira on favorable terms, which will strengthen the working capital of our industrialists working in the manufacturing sector. The statement explained that the investment environment will be further improved through reforms that facilitate business and investment processes and regulations that strengthen legal predictability. In this context, it was stated that the 12th Justice Package, which is on the agenda of the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, aims to increase the effectiveness of judicial proceedings.

The statement on the main topics discussed at the EKK meeting said: “The recent developments in the labor market were assessed and the planned measures to implement the needs of the labor market were discussed with the Board members.
