Eight people died when molten iron spilled on workers at a factory in India

According to Indian broadcaster NDTV, police said molten iron at a temperature of 1,600 degrees was poured on workers at the steel factory in the state's Visakhapatnam city while they were being transported by crane to another area.

An official, whose name was not given, made a statement to the Press Trust of India (PTI) agency, saying that according to initial findings, eight people died and six people were injured in the incident.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sadness in his statement on the issue.

Modi expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the incident and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
