827 million liters of fuel were sold during the Eid al-Adha holiday

According to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority, around 67 percent of sales during the 10-day holiday period from May 22 to 31 were diesel and 33 percent were gasoline.

In total, 552 million 349 thousand 541 liters of diesel and 274 million 923 thousand 73 liters of gasoline were consumed on vacation. Thus, total fuel sales reached 827 million 272 thousand 614 liters.

Those who left for Eid visits and holidays filled their vehicles' tanks mostly with diesel on May 22 and with gasoline on May 23.

During the period mentioned, a total of 54 billion 62 million 78 thousand 368 lira worth of gasoline and diesel were sold in Turkey. During this period, the average liter price for diesel was 66.30 lira and the liter price for gasoline was 63.45 lira.

When it comes to distribution by province, Istanbul ranks first

During the Eid holiday, the highest diesel sales were recorded in Istanbul with 66 million 435,000 211 liters, followed by Ankara with 33 million 185,000 681 liters and Izmir with 25 million 937,000 425 liters.

During the same period, the highest gasoline sales were achieved in Istanbul with 46 million 271 thousand 284 liters. This was followed by Ankara with 21 million 805 thousand 244 liters and Izmir with 15 million 387 thousand 902 liters.

The average daily gasoline sales in Türkiye are about 20.9 million liters and diesel sales are about 85.9 million liters. Gasoline and diesel sales increase during holiday periods when travel increases.
