The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released statistics on housing and job sales for April.
Accordingly, the number of used houses sold across Türkiye increased by 9.6 percent to 40,306 in April compared to the same month last year. The number of used houses fell by 0.3 percent in the same period, falling to 86,502. Thus, the total number of houses sold last month reached 126,808, an increase of 2.6 percent compared to the same month of 2025.
The share of first home sales in total house sales was 31.8 percent, the share of used house sales was 68.2 percent.
Mortgage sales increased
The number of mortgage house sales across Türkiye reached 25,771 in April, an increase of 40.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
Other residential sales fell 4 percent year-on-year in April to 101,000 37. The share of mortgage sales in total residential sales was 20.3 percent and the share of other sales was 79.7 percent.
In the series adjusted for calendar effects, first-hand home sales rose 2.9 percent in April compared to the same month in 2025, while second-hand home sales fell 6.1 percent.
In the series adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, sales of first homes increased by 5.4 percent and sales of used homes increased by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month.
1516 houses were sold to foreigners
Housing sales to foreigners fell by 1.1 percent in April compared to the same month last year and reached 1,516. In April, the share of apartment sales to foreigners in total apartment sales was 1.2 percent.
Last month, the most home sales by nationality in the country were to Russian citizens with 263, Chinese citizens with 110 and Iranian citizens with 100.
Period January-April
In the January-April period this year, the number of sales of used houses increased by 3.8 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 147,000,885. The number of used home sales fell 0.9 percent over the same period, reaching 328,000,319. Thus, the total number of houses sold during this period was recorded at 476,000,204, an increase of 0.5 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
Sales of mortgage houses increased by 33.8 percent to 97 thousand 47 in the January-April period. In the 4-month period of this year, other housing sales fell by 5.5 percent to 379 thousand 157.
During the same period, real estate sales to foreigners fell by 11.6 percent compared to the January-April period last year, reaching 5,681.
Business sales increased
The number of first-hand business sales across Türkiye increased by 14.3 percent in April compared to the same month last year, reaching 4,301. Sales of second-hand jobs also increased by 8.7 percent annually, reaching 11,393.
Thus, the total number of jobs sold last month was estimated at 15,694, an increase of 10.2 percent compared to the same month in 2025.
Sales of mortgage jobs nationwide rose 102.1 percent to 758 in April compared to the same month last year, while sales of other jobs rose 7.7 percent to 14,936.
According to the series adjusted for calendar effects, first-hand sales rose 7.4 percent and second-hand sales rose 2.6 percent in April compared to the same month last year.
According to the series, adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, sales of second-hand workplaces increased by 10 percent and sales of second-hand workplaces increased by 8.8 percent compared to the previous month.
Period January-April
In the January-April period in Turkey, the number of sales of second-hand jobs fell by 1.6 percent annually to 15,000 513 and sales of second-hand jobs fell by 4.7 percent to 42,000 16.
Thus, the total number of jobs sold in the 4 months of the year was calculated at 57,000,529, a decrease of 3.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
In the January-April period, mortgage sales rose 73.6 percent, reaching 2,724. During the same period this year, other job sales fell 6 percent to 54,805.
