Bekayi answered journalists' questions at a news conference in the capital Tehran.
Regarding the draft that the US submitted to Iran, Bekayi said:
“Our focus at this stage is on ending the war. Nuclear issues and enrichment are issues that will be discussed along with the decisions and options we will make later. The United States insists on its unreasonable demands and continues to enforce its unilateral position.”
“We didn’t ask for concessions”
Bekayi made the following statements about the proposal they submitted to the US:
“We have made a proposal not only for the security of Iran, but also for the security of the entire region. We have not asked for concessions; what we want are the rights of Iran. We only demand the right of our country to end the war. Completely ending the war, especially in Lebanon, ensuring maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, ending US piracy and releasing Iran's frozen assets, which are unjustly kept in banks under US pressure, are on the agenda and legitimate.” are our demands.”
Bekayi explained that Tehran is making responsible proposals to Washington: “Iran is a responsible power in the region. The proposal it submitted to the US was prepared with a sense of responsibility.” he said.
Iran's expectations of Trump's visit to China
Referring to US President Donald Trump's visit to Beijing, Bekayi said that the US insists on its unilateral and extreme stance: “We hope that our Chinese friends will use the opportunity to warn about the consequences of illegal American actions.” He wished.
Bekayi also said about the possibility of a breakdown in negotiations or a new attack on Iran: “We will fight whenever we have to fight.” he said.
– “Intervention in the Strait of Hormuz would complicate matters further”
Bekayi also assessed the Strait of Hormuz, saying:
“Intervening in issues related to the Strait of Hormuz further complicates the matter. The problem arises from the aggression of the US and the Zionist regime. The hostile actions of the US are the main cause of instability in the region. The Strait of Hormuz was already open before February 28.”
“IAEA President has moved away from his main task”
Bekayi also responded to statements by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) President Rafael Mariano Grossi that “uranium in Iran cannot be destroyed by war.”
Bekayi said: “The statements of the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency show that he has long since drifted away from his core mission. What will gain the agency's credibility is that it condemns the US-Israeli attacks on Iranian facilities and takes precautions to prevent a repeat of these attacks.” he said.
Regarding the news of France and England's desire to send warships to the region, Bekayi said: “We have clearly expressed to European countries that they should not allow the provocations of the United States and the Zionist regime on regional issues to become a crisis that brings no benefit.” he said.
The claim that Israel has established a secret military base in Iraq
Finally, Bekayi addressed the allegations that Israel had set up a secret military base in Iraq.
The Iranian spokesman said: “This issue is very important and will be discussed in meetings with Iraqi officials. In addition, this issue will be discussed along with the reports we have received that the Zionist regime is using the land of countries in the region with bad intentions.” He said:
