According to the ministry, the Unfair Price Assessment Panel held its second meeting of the year and the 46th meeting overall on April 3, 2026.
At the meeting, findings on the checks carried out on vegetable and fruit products in wholesale markets and markets were discussed.
Following the findings of extensive inspections, action was taken against national chain stores and 183 wholesale vegetable and fruit companies that were found to have charged excessive prices. As a result of the Board's assessment, it was decided to impose an administrative penalty totaling 96 million 600 thousand liras on the companies in question.
The statement stressed that the inspection activities carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce will continue without slowdown, adding: “Inspections will continue with determination to protect our consumers and ensure fair prices in the market.” Statements were recorded.
