President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will officially announce Türkiye's transition to 5G at a ceremony to be held at the Presidential Complex tomorrow.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that Türkiye has reached a new milestone in the history of mobile communications and made a statement on the transition to 5G.
Emphasizing that Türkiye has reached a critical threshold in its 32-year journey in mobile communications, Minister Uraloğlu stated that this adventure, which began on February 23, 1994, has now entered a new phase with 5G technology.
The 5G era officially begins
Stating that Türkiye's transition to 5G will be officially announced at the ceremony on March 31 at the Presidential Complex in the presence of President Erdoğan, Uraloğlu said: “5G service will gradually start in 81 provinces on April 1, 2026. Our goal is to spread 5G service to every point of our country within two years.”
Uraloğlu pointed out that communication speeds will increase with 5G, emphasizing that this change will not be limited to communication only.
Uraloğlu said: “With the new technology, there will be radical changes in many areas, from intelligent transportation systems to autonomous driving, from remote health applications to smart factories, from high-definition media transmission to agricultural technologies.”
