Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan said in his speech at the “Iftar Program with Workers” held in the Ceremonial Hall and hosted by the President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş that protecting the rights of everyone who works hard and improving working life is always the top priority.
Pointing out that Türkiye has made great progress in all areas of working life in the past 23 years, from social security to union organization, Işıkhan stated that they have mobilized all opportunities for workers and workers under all circumstances.
Stating that contrary to the intended miscalculations, they achieved historic increases in the nominal and real minimum wage and did not expose workers to inflation, Işıkhan explained the new steps they have taken to prepare the labor market for the future and provide more job opportunities to every member of the nation in line with the vision of the Turkish century.
“We will work to maximize the well-being of our employees”
Stating that they have achieved the best data in recent times in terms of employment and labor force participation due to the decisive steps, Işıkhan said: “We have carried out a quiet revolution in working life. We have shown that the concepts of rights, law and justice can be established through action, social dialogue and consultation, not through chaos on the streets.” he said.
Işıkhan stated that they ensured that May 1, which was previously “remembered with excitement”, would be declared a public holiday and peacefully celebrated as a real “Day of Labor and Solidarity”, and explained that they would work to maximize the welfare of workers by increasing the inclusiveness of the Social Security Institution.
