Applications for the TÜBA awards have begun

The application process for the TÜBA-GEBİP and TÜBA-TESEP 2026 award programs has begun.

The application deadline for the award programs ends on March 27th.

TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker stated that the awards are the compass for Türkiye's scientific development and pointed out:


“The process was carried out carefully, the award juries were evaluated in detail, the basis of merit is the basic principle. The TÜBA-GEBİP awards support the innovative projects of young academics for three years. TÜBA not only recognizes individual achievements, but also makes a long-term contribution to the scientific resources of Turkey and therefore the world.”

Awards and support

The TÜBA-GEBİP Prizes, established by the Academy 25 years ago, continue to support young scientists in Türkiye in their research.

TÜBA-TESEP Awards, presented for nearly 20 years, recognize qualified copyrighted works based on the correct use of scientific language.

TÜBA has decided to award the “Gazi Yaşargil Neuroscience Special Awards” from 2026 in memory of M. Gazi Yaşargil, who died in 2025 and is known worldwide as the “Neurosurgeon of the Century”. Young Turkish scientists in the relevant scientific discipline can apply for this special prize in the area of ​​“Health and Life Sciences”. The award, along with other awards, will be presented to its owner at the ceremony at the Presidential Complex.

This year, as part of the TÜBA-GEBİP program, the “Ahmet and Nezahat Keleşoğlu Pharmacy GEBİP Special Award” will be awarded to a scientist who makes a difference in the field of pharmacy with his scientific research, projects and studies.

As part of the TESEP program, Prof. Dr. Halil Inalcık, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Genç and Prof. Dr. A “Special Prize” will be awarded in the name of Kemal Karpat.

The winners of the TÜBA-GEBİP Prize will receive 250,000 lira per year for three years, 50,000 lira per year for their postgraduate studies as part of their thesis, additional financial support of up to 40,000 lira for the national and international meetings they organize as part of their international scientific studies, as well as scientific advisory support from TÜBA members. In addition, participation in scientific conferences and events abroad is funded once a year for the next 5 years after the first 3 years.

Within the framework of TESEP, a prize of 150,000 lira will be awarded for copyrighted works and 100,000 lira for the special jury prize.
